About Aleta
Hello, I’m Aleta. Welcome to my little corner of the web.
I’ve always been drawn to creativity—painting, writing, and finding beauty in unexpected places. My art is inspired by emotion and story: roses in shadow, light after storms, and the quiet space between silence and song. Each piece I make carries a part of my journey, whether it’s hope, memory, or healing.
A big part of my story is that I’m a breast cancer survivor. During that time, art wasn’t just something I loved—it became a lifeline. Through journaling, painting, and creating, I found a way to process what I was going through and turn it into something that could shine back hope. Now, I continue to create from that same place of resilience and reflection.
On this site, you’ll find:
- My gallery of paintings, full of stories in color and texture.
- My son’s art, which always brings me joy.
- A look at my exhibitions, where my work has been shared out in the world.
Beyond the Canvas
I also love words as much as images. If you enjoy poetry and prose, I’d love for you to visit my forum: The Gray That Blooms.
And if you’d like to read more of my reflections, I keep a personal blog: Fleur de Aleta.
Wall of Women
During my three breast-cancer surgeries, I began a wall of women—portraits of strength, kindness, and quiet courage. I surrounded myself with these faces as a daily reminder that I was not alone. Over time the wall became more than a painting; it became a circle of support, a chorus that whispered healing back to me. I keep them close still, as a promise to keep choosing hope.

Thank you so much for being here. My hope is that, as you look through this site, something speaks to you—whether it’s comfort, inspiration, or simply a moment to pause.
